About Fold port

Fold port publishes practical, independent guides that help people use VPNs for
everyday situations — watching a home streaming library while travelling, keeping data private on
public Wi-Fi, staying connected for remote work, and reaching the services people rely on when they
cross a border.

Our mission

The VPN market is loud, and much of what is written about it is thinly veiled advertising. Our goal
is the opposite: clear, use-case-driven guidance that starts from a real situation (“I want to watch
my country’s catalogue from abroad”, “I use hotel Wi-Fi for work”) and answers it with facts you can
check.

How we work

  • Use-case first. Every guide is built around a concrete scenario and the countries,
services, and constraints involved in it.
  • Primary sources. Claims about what is available where, what a service permits, and
what a plan costs are anchored to first-party sources — official service help pages and terms,
regulators and public authorities, and recognised connectivity statistics — not hearsay.
  • Neutral and lawful. We explain how technologies work without encouraging anyone to
break the law or a service’s terms of use. Local rules always come first.
  • Independent of the brands we cover. Some links on this site are affiliate links,
but our assessments are not for sale. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

Four languages

We write for an international audience in four languages:
日本語, English, Deutsch, and
简体中文. Each language edition is written by an author who focuses on privacy,
public Wi-Fi, streaming geo-availability, and remote-work connectivity. Meet them on our
author pages.

Editorial independence

Advertising and affiliate relationships never determine our conclusions, and sponsors do not review
content before publication. How we source and correct our work is described in our
Editorial Policy.
