to every article and guide we publish across all four language editions.
How we choose topics
We start from real reader situations — travel, relocation, remote work, streaming access, and privacy
on shared networks — and prioritise questions that are widely asked but poorly answered elsewhere.
Sourcing standards
Factual claims are anchored to primary sources. For Fold port that means, wherever possible:
- official help centres, regional availability pages, and terms of service of the platforms we discuss
(for example streaming and messaging services); - regulators, government bodies, and official announcements for anything touching law or policy;
- recognised connectivity and network statistics (such as widely cited speed-test and mobile-industry
data) for performance and coverage figures; - VPN providers’ own published specifications and supported-country lists for product facts.
We avoid stating prices, coverage, or availability as fact without a citable source, because these
details change frequently.
Verification and testing
Where a claim can be checked directly, we check it, and we describe what we observed rather than what a
vendor promises. When a fact cannot be independently verified, we say so.
Corrections and updates
VPN performance, streaming catalogues, prices, and regulations move quickly. We revisit guides as
conditions change, and we correct errors promptly when they are reported. If you spot something wrong or

Advertising and affiliate independence
Fold port earns revenue from advertising and from affiliate commissions. Neither influences our
editorial judgement: we do not sell favourable coverage, and advertisers and affiliate partners do not
